Who May Apply: The State Farm Companies Foundation makes charitable contributions to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, Canadian charitable organizations, and educational institutions. In general, grants are awarded for specific programs in the giving categories described above rather than for one-time events or capital campaigns.
Funding Amount: Requests exceeding $100,000 are considered quarterly.

Description: The mission of Staples Foundation for Learning is to provide funding to programs that support or provide job skills and/or education for all people, with a special emphasis on disadvantaged youth. Description: The Macy's Foundation focuses giving primarily in the areas of education, arts/culture, women's issues, HIV/AIDS, and programs to assist youth and minorities. Applicants seeking funding for programs or projects that directly benefit one or more of these areas of strategic focus should make that clear on their applications.

Description: The NEA Foundation provides grants to improve the academic achievement of students in U.S. public schools and public higher education institutions in any subject area(s). The proposed work should engage students in critical thinking and problem solving that deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students' habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection. Proposals for work resulting in low-income and minority student success with honors, advanced placement, or other challenging curricula are particularly encouraged.
Funding Amount: The grant amount is $5,000.
Who May Apply: Applicants must be practicing U.S. public school teachers in grades pre-K through 12; public school education support professionals; or faculty or staff at public higher education institutions. Preference will be given to applicants who serve economically disadvantaged students. Preference will also be given to members of the National Education Association.
